The family of Year 7 student Ben Laud have been regular fundraisers for children’s heart charity Heartlink, since Ben had a successful procedure after suffering a potentially fatal heart problem when just nine.
They held a fashion show to fund a defibrillator for the school, but when approaching businesses for raffle prizes, were stunned by the generosity of Quadring firm Crossroads Nurseries who offered to pay for the device.
Now the family hope to put the £600 raised from the show towards a screening programme to be held at the school.
