The team will be answering questions on the Helpline’s 0808 100 8000 number as well as through dedicated Twitter and Facebook accounts for the second year running.

Students can call the line if they haven’t secured the grades they were predicted, to get advice if they have changed their minds about their chosen university/course, and for guidance if they’ve done better than they expected.

Approximately 6,000 people called the helpline last year and as well as students, the Exam Results Helpline Advisers also provide help and advice to a large number of parents.

The Exam Results Helpline is staffed by the country’s best independent and highly experienced careers advisers. Students across the UK who have received their exam results (A levels, GCSEs and BTECs) can call in to talk through their options and to get advice about their future learning and career options.

Raminder Mahil called the helpline last year when her son received his GCSE results and was applying to college, her advice is to not panic: “Always seek advice. I found the Exam Results Helpline invaluable and the person I spoke to gave me fantastic support.”

The helpline answered thousands of calls last year on topics including resits, vocational courses, gap years, funding, careers and employment.
