Year 1 at the Richmond School had a day off from their computer screens to work on the project.

Joanne Hazard, of the Richmond School, said: "They wanted to create cards to thank the police for all their hard work - not just everyday but during the Covid pandemic.

"Our youngest pupils have been so inspired by our hardworking emergency services they wanted to say 'thank you' in person.

"Staff members Kate Truskiewicz, Connor Ratcliffe Wendy Winson, Sally Thompson and Mary Lenton helped the pupils prepare their amazing cards and produce the basket of goodies."
