Youngsters have been channeling their favourite literary characters as World Book Day was celebrated across the globe.

On Thursday March 7, children – and big kids – were taking part in activities in schools and work places for World Book Day.

St Andrew’s Primary School in Woodhall Spa pupils dressed up as their favourite characters and held a book exchange, with parents coming in to read at the end of the day.

Just some of the colourful costumes being shown off by little ones included Granny from Granny Got a Sprout Stuck Up Her Sneezer, Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland, The Billionaire Boy, and many more.
