Alex Burt and Koen Torinsci-Grives were among the Year 11 pupils who received their results last Thursday.

Alex Burt, who received 9’s in 6 subjects, said he was happy with his results. ‘They’re good results, I got nothing lower than a 7.

“I’m not going to appeal them. I don’t feel the need to appeal anything, the results I got are accurate, but I feel some are a bit too high.’

Alex said the Government’s handling of results had been ‘poor’ after the initial plan to use an algorithm set up by Ofqual, which led to an initial downgrading of almost 40 per cent of A-level results, had been poor.

“They set up a postcode lottery and nearly failed a generation of underprivileged kids. It took them too long to backtrack,” he said.

Alex is now going to sixth form at Boston High School.

Koen said he was quite pleased with his results. “This was the kind of targets I was looking for, maybe I could’ve pushed myself a bit further to get 9’ but I can’t say I’m not please with 6 8’s I got.

“I do believe the exams board and teachers have done an excellent job getting the grades as accurate as possible. It must have been tough.

“Thanks to Boston Grammar for their hard work and support for this whole time and getting me the results I believe I deserved. For my next steps, it’ll be continuing to d A-levels, hoping to pass in Maths, Physics and Geography. “With most things done, and alongside my new results, my future as a pilot is looking even brighter.”
