Year 11 students sat their examinations earlier this year, in May and June, following months of preparation and extra support to help students maximise their potential.
Among the many student successes this year, several individuals have achieved particularly impressive outcomes:
Callum McClelland secured outstanding results including four Grade 8s and three Grade 7s. He will now continue his studies at Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School (QEGS), where he will be pursuing A Levels in Science and Mathematics.
Alice Wright achieved an excellent set of GCSE results, including a Grade 8 in Geography, alongside strong performances across all other subjects, where she secured Grades 5 and 6. She will be attending Boston College to study Travel and Tourism.
Freddie Jennings also achieved excellent results, including a Grade 9 in Physics, a Grade 8 in Business Studies and three Grade 7s. Freddie will be continuing his education at Lincoln College to study A Levels.
Ewyn Thomas deserves special recognition, says the school. Despite facing a number of challenges during his time at school, Ewyn faced every challenge placed before him and achieved strong outcomes across his core subjects, including a Grade 8 in English Language. Ewyn will be progressing to Boston College to study a UPS course.
Barnes Wallis is part of the David Ross Education Trust.
Charlotte Dunsford, Principal at Barnes Wallis Academy, was incredibly proud of the students, saying: “Many students took full advantage of the additional support on offer, attending before and after school interventions, Easter School and other revision sessions, demonstrating a real commitment to achieving their best.
“I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to our dedicated staff, whose tireless efforts in providing this extra support have played a significant role in helping students succeed.”
