GCSEs 2026: KEVIGS Louth students deliver excellent results

Year 11 students at Louth’s King Edward VI Grammar School are said to have delivered a “superb” set of GCSE results.

Over 90 per cent of GCSE entries were graded 9-4 with a third of results graded 9-7.

Many students achieved excellent individual results including: Tabitha, who achieved 12 grade 9s, Mykhailo, who achieved nine grade 9s and four 8 grades, and Nancy, who achieved seven 9 grades and four 8 grades.

“Today, our students showed just what hard work and commitment can deliver,” commented Sam Cassidy, Headteacher. “This year’s GCSE results are fantastic and testament to what KEVIGS students can achieve in our supportive environment. Many students have commented on how our caring and expert teachers gave them just what they needed to achieve the best possible grades. I am incredibly proud of our students and our staff.

“Particularly pleasing, above and beyond sharing the success of our Year 11 students, is that so many of them have decided to stay with us for Sixth Form. In the past few years, we have built upon a solid core of traditional A Levels, taught by subject specialists, and broadened our offering to provide even more opportunities for post-16 study. This has resulted in not only more of our current students deciding to stay with us but has also meant that we’ve been delighted to welcome many more students from other schools into our vibrant and growing Sixth Form.”

Alongside its established academic offer, students can now choose from an expanding range of subjects including Law, Criminology, Computer Science, Accountancy and English Language. Other prospective students and their families will have the opportunity to find out more at the school’s Sixth Form Open Evening on Wednesday September 30.
