Due to the Covid-19 pandemic disruption, pupils missed out on sitting exams in favour of teacher assessed grades for the last two years.

Laranya Caslin, Principal. at St George’s Academy said she and her fellow staff are “very proud” of the outcomes achieved by this latest Year 11.

She commented that they have endured a lot over these last three years:

“These students have faced unprecedented disruption throughout their Key Stage 4 courses which started in Year 9 at St George’s, but they have adapted well, acquired new online-learning skills and grown in resilience as a result.

"Consequently, they are more independent learners than any other Year 11, and in many respects better equipped for their next steps.”

She added: “We are delighted that, for the vast majority, those next steps involve attending sixth form here at St George’s Academy and we look forward to welcoming them back in a couple of weeks.”
