There really is something to suit everyone at Boston College, with help available to access free education and courses to meet the unique issues being faced by us all as we look to life after Covid-19.

“Now is the time for people to invest in their own futures and the futures of their businesses, to be well placed to take advantage of the opportunities in what will be quite a changed world,” says principal Claire Foster.

“These really are difficult times that are affecting us all in very different ways, especially those that went onto furlough or lost their jobs, as well as businesses that are struggling to stay afloat.”

Each of the three packages offers a variety of courses to choose from, designed to be delivered online with the support of a specialist tutor, meaning total flexibility to create a training package which meets individual needs.

Courses include Emotional Intelligence, Managing Personal Finances, Understanding Stress and Stress Management, IT User Skills, Understanding Data Protection and Security and Bookkeeping, along with organisation management techniques, business administration and retail operations.

The College has a place at the heart of the community, Ms Foster explains, for any adult looking to get a job, change jobs or find a better career opportunity, as well as helping businesses to support and upskill their employees. It could be a digital skills course, or free tailored help to build confidence to return to work.

“The commitment to support funding for adults has never been more available,” adds Ms Foster. “You don’t need to give up work to study; you don’t have to make a choice between study and work or home commitments, these part-time courses can fit around your schedule.”
