Lambing Open Day to go ahead at Friskney care farm

There's a new buzz around a care farm in Friskney because lambs are arriving and clients have begun returning.

Since being forced to close due to Covid-19 restrictions, it's been a tough year for the Askefield Project.

With no funding to run projects, founders Chris and Hannah Blevins have been working at the Boston Vaccination Centre just to pay the bills and keep the animals on the farm fed.

But following an easing of restrictions clients are back - and there is a new excitement with the arrival of the lambs and the announcement the fundraising Lambing Open Day will take place on April 17, subject to Covid-19 restrictions.

The Standard popped along to meet the lambs and see what has been happening while the project has been closed - and what is planned for the coming year.

We also met some young people working on a Princes Trust project to create a sensory garden at the care farm.
