Learning goes '˜out of this world'

Youngsters from a primary school near Sleaford were taken on a trip across the stars when they welcomed a special guest recently.

As part of its preparations for British Science Week, pupils from Leasingham St Andrew’s Primary School were joined by Dr Gareth Francis, from Working Science for a day dedicated to science. Each class spent a session exploring hands-on learning, with a particular focus on space and the galaxy.

Headteacher David Hodgson said: “The children talked and carried out a range of experiments linked to their learning. It was a very motivational day for the children, who were inspired by our visitor.”

Dr Francis is pictured with children from the Year 5 Norwich class.
