The tuition is on offer from St John Ambulance to primary and secondary schools in Lincolnshire, using funding from the Department for Education.

The government’s £250,000 Character Education grant helps young people develop traits such as confidence and community spirit.

Lessons have already begun on life saving skills that include bandaging, CPR and the recovery position.

Wendy Human, Director of Charitable Initiatives and Training, St John Ambulance, said: ‘We know schools want their pupils to learn first aid but most don’t have the resources to teach it – this is the perfect opportunity for them to get life saving skills taught in the classroom.”

She continued: “First aid can boost confidence, develop integrity, encourage resilience, and inspire young people to be the difference in their communities.”

Schools can contact St John Ambulance for more details on 0303 003 0103.
