Louth and Alford pupils do their bit to support the community at Christmas
Students at both academy sites have donated generously to Louth Community Larder, collecting two full trollies of food to help those in need within the local community through a non-uniform day.

Hide AdThey also participated in Save The Children Christmas Jumper Day, raising £478 through student and staff donations.
Philip Dickinson, Principal of Louth Academy, said: “Everyone at Louth Academy is delighted to be participating in some wonderful charitable events this Christmas.
“The Louth food bank supports a number of families in the local area and we are extremely proud to be able to pass on a donation of money and two full trollies of food to try and help those in need within the local community.

Hide Ad“Fostering positive links between Louth Academy and the wider community is essential for us as an academy and we are actively encouraging students to participate and appreciate the importance of positive community involvement.
“The Christmas jumper day raised £478 for Save The Children and we are also thrilled to pass on such a generous offering on behalf of the staff and students at Louth Academy.”
Meanwhile, students at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar, Alford, joined forces to bring some much needed Christmas cheer to their local community.

Hide AdStudents generously gave Christmas treats and much needed items to be donated to the Alford Foodstore and local elderly members of Alford Day Centre.
Students made up gift hampers to be delivered to local residents, which all included a selection of festive food together with cards, letters and poems by pupils in Years 7 and 10.
Headteacher, Glen Thompson, said “We are delighted to be able to continue to work alongside our local community especially in these challenging circumstances”.
