New minibuses open up opportunities
The two new, 17 seater (or 13 plus a wheelchair) minibuses have tail lifts for wheelchair access and replace two old vehicles that were no longer appropriate.
External Funding Manager Sarah Dakin explained the adaptions open up opportunities for students with special needs to participate in out of school activities.

Rachel Sanderson, Special Educational Needs Manager at the Academy, agreed saying: “The new minibuses mean that all of our students can now access school trips and other events without us relying on home transport or buying in specialist taxis. All of our wheelchair users can now easily travel with their peers in a totally inclusive way.”
Milly, a student with special needs commented: “The minibus is great because I can now visit places and go on school trips.”
