New youth club to be launched in Skegness

A new club is set to provide more activities for young people in Skegness.

Tonight (Friday) is the official launch of the new local branch of YMCA.

Skegness Youth Centre is hosting the new youth club, which is being run by YMCA Lincolnshire.

Meetings will take place every Friday evening, with youngsters partaking in activities such as games, arts and crafts, and sport.

John Herbert, from YMCA Lincolnshire said that the club will be ‘youth-led’ and they’ll follow ‘what the young people would like to do'.

He also said there has been ‘interest within the local community'.

Ten student volunteers from Skegness TEC will also be helping to run the sessions.

The sessions will be split between age groups, with ages 6-11 meeting from 5pm to 6.30pm and 11-17’s meeting from 6.45pm to 8.15pm. There is no need to book in advance and young people are invited to just turn up.
