Ofsted issues new statement on Market Rasen nursery

The Town and Country Kiddies was downgraded from ‘outstanding’ to ‘good’ by inspectors when they visited the Kilnwell Road site in March.
The inspection report was subsequently withdrawn by Ofsted and has now been republished with amendments.
However, the overall grading remains unaltered.

“After careful consideration of the evidence, we concluded that the original judgement is correct: this nursery is good. This includes its efforts to develop children’s understanding of other people and places.
“However, we have amended the section about areas for improvement, so that the owner is clear what needs to be done to be judged to be outstanding.”
The original Ofsted report praised the nursery on several aspects but stated: “Staff do not provide enough opportunities for children to develop a strong sense of belonging at the nursery and to learn about people who are different to themselves.”
This comment has not been included in the republished report.
