Six-year-old Freddie Blades, who attends St Peter and St Paul's Primary School, drew a picture and wrote a letter to the Queen as part of his home schooling, saying he hoped Her Majesty was keeping well.

Mum Emma said he hoped he would get a letter back, but didn’t think he would.

Imagine his excitement when the letter came through the door.

Signed by the Queen's lady-in-waiting, she thanked Freddie for his colourful picture and letter.

The letter said: "Her Majesty much appreciates your kind thought for her at this time and hopes you and your family too are keeping safe and well during the current situation."

Sister Lily, aged nine, who also attends Burgh school, has also been busy.

She had 12 inches of her hair cut off for the Princess Trust charity and was delighted to receive a certificate for her efforts.

Emma said: "I am so proud of them both."
