This was the spectacular tribute created at St George’s Academy, in Sleaford, in tribute to fallen members of the armed forces last week.

This year, due to the coronavirus, the school was unable to hold its normal Remembrance Day parade.

Instead, it created a ‘Poppy Waterfall’ in the main hall of its Sleaford campus and a ‘Poppy Array’ in the viewing platform of its Ruskington campus.

Every pupil was invited to craft a poppy for the displays. They were also able to personalise their poppy with the name of a loved one they wanted to remember. Others, meanwhile, wanted to pay respect to fallen animals and produced purple poppies for the installations.

The Poppy Waterfall (pictured) was assembled for display through a collaboration between sixth Form art students and St George’s Combined Cadet Force.
