Letters sent home to parents yesterday (Tuesday) from headteacher Mark Guest state that Year 12 and 13 students must stay at home after a student tested positive for the virus.

The letter from the Welbourn-based school states: “We have identified all the student’s close contacts and we can confirm that the student does not travel on any of our school bus routes with any other pupils.”

The sixth formers have been told they will work from home via virtual remote learning systems from today (Wednesday).

Mr Guest assured parents that the action had been put in place after taking advice from the county’s health advisers.

Currently some year nine students remain off school after a positive case was confirmed. St George’s Academy has also had to send some students home due to a positive case, as has Billingborough Primary School.
