Slam Jam students at De Aston

De Aston School hosted a heat of the Lincolnshire regional competition Slam Jam, where judges and staff alike were entertained with a range of performances, from poetry to monologues to group pieces.

Students performed their own writing, with no script.

Representing De Aston School in the heat against Caistor Yarborough Academy, Banovallum School and King Edward VI Grammar School were Ellen Firth (Yr7), Rosy Smith, Chloe Chuck and Poppy Chapman (Yr9), and Bobbie Brader (Yr12), all praised by the judges for their ‘engaging use of language, powerful performances and marvellous memorisation’.
