Fishtoft Academy primary school re-opened to all year groups last week.

The Government has initially asked schools to allow Reception, Year One, and Year Six to return with a view to eventually getting all year groups back.

But the size of Fishtoft has meant it is able to welcome all its year groups back already.

Headteacher Jo Bland said: "It is fantastic to once again be able to welcome pupils of all ages back to school and see so many familiar faces - we really did miss everyone! The children are settling back into school very well.

“We would like to say a big thank you to all of our school community for the ways in which everyone has coped over the past few months as we recognise it has not been easy for many of our families.

“However, it is a really positive feeling to be able to say that our pupils are now back in school and are able to access the 'family values' style of education that Fishtoft Academy so proudly provides.

“We are also very proud of the fact that in the last four years this academy has been within the top 3 per cent of schools nationally for progress upon two occasions. Now we are back, we are all determined to continue the hard work that has already been carried out - and build upon this great success story."

Fishtoft Academy still has vacancies for pupils across all year groups - call 01205 363139 for more information.
