Tealby School pupils spread Christmas cheer with handmade cards

Children from Tealby School have been busy spreading festive joy throughout the village after delivering handmade Christmas cards to local residents in the run-up to the festive season.
Pupils from across the school worked enthusiastically to design and create the cards, each one featuring colourful artwork, thoughtful messages, and seasonal greetings. The project aimed to help children reflect on the importance of kindness, community, and giving—values that lie at the heart of Christmas.
Earlier this week, the children set out around Tealby to personally deliver the cards to residents, who were delighted by the unexpected gesture.
Headteacher Zoe Humberstone said:

“This was a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to connect with the local community and understand how small acts of kindness can make a big difference. The children were incredibly proud to share something they had made themselves.”
Residents expressed their appreciation for the thoughtful initiative, with several commenting on how uplifting it was to see young people taking the time to spread Christmas cheer. For some, the visit provided a particularly welcome moment of connection during the busy festive period.
The card delivery forms part of Tealby School’s ongoing commitment to community engagement, helping pupils learn the value of generosity and togetherness.
As Christmas approaches, the children of Tealby School have shown that the true spirit of the season lies not in gifts, but in kindness, creativity, and caring for one another.
