Training scheme Ofsted award

Inspectors praised the high completion and employment rates together with the trainees’ high standards of professionalism and the highly practical, school based nature of the training.
The St George’s Academy Partnership which includes seven schools in central and south Lincolnshire, has only been in operation for two years but has already secured outcomes for trainees which have been securely good and improving, according to the report. The quality of the training is usually good and some aspects are outstanding.

Inspectors were particularly impressed with the leadership of the School Centred Initial Teacher Training partnership by St George’s Vice Principal Amanda Money and programme leader Sarah Trow.
Mrs Money said: “As a partnership of schools we have worked closely with the University of Lincoln to create their newly established School of Education, through which our trainees receive post-graduate qualifications with Masters Level credits attached, whilst being awarded Qualified Teacher Status from the partnership. We are also launching our primary programme for 2017, with ten Primary Partner Schools coming on board so there are more exciting times ahead.”
