Youngsters from both the Carre’s Grammar School and Kesteven and Sleaford High School took part in the event on the last day before half-term.

They covered 12 miles, completing the distance from Sleaford to Rauceby and Silk Willoughby and back.

A spokesperson for Carre’s said that each year group raised money for a different charity: Year 7, for Tourette’s Syndrome; Year 8 for the Alzheimer’s Society, Year 9 for the Chemotherapy Bus; Year 10 for Young People’s Mental Health; Year 11 for the RAF Benevolent Fund; Sixth Form for Macmillan Cancer Support.
