Auction to raise vital funds for care of sick and premature babies

A Skegness gym is appealing for support for an auction to raise funds for a hospital ward treating sick and premature babies.

Thousands of pounds worth of prizes are up for grabs at the live event on social media for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby.

Jack Johnson, who runs Phoenix Fitness in Victoria Road, said: "We know the public is being massively generous supporting the NHS through the Covid-19 crisis, but they are also continuing to give vital care for other patients through this difficult time.

"One of our members is a nurse at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Grimsby hospital and we wanted to support her and the team she works with to care for these babies."

On Saturday. one of the members Ethan Steele did a row 'until he dropped', with members donating £10 to guess what time he finished. The winner received jewellery and gym vouchers worth £250.

The auction takes place live on the Jack Johnson PT Facebook page on Monday, May 11, at 7.30pm.

Prizes include lifetime Phoenix membership, a Ferrari experience, a stay at Eastwood Hall, Nottingham with a Mercedes and driver at your disposal, a year's free unlimited classes and sunbed use, as well as paintings and lots more. The final list of what is to be auctioned will be posted today (Sunday).
