CORONAVIRUS: First death in Lincolnshire hospitals for 22 days is recorded

United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust has confirmed its first COVID-19 related death in 22 days — the second this week in Greater Lincolnshire.

NHS statistics published on Thursday show the death registered on September 22, bringing ULHT’s toll to 145.

It follow another death at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Trust, which happened on September 21 and was reported on Tuesday.

There were 46 new cases of coronavirus in Greater Lincolnshire yesterday, pushing the tally above 500 for the month.

Government data showed cases of COVID-19 in Lincolnshire increased by 25, with 10 new cases in North Lincolnshire, and 11 in North East Lincolnshire.

It means there have been 541 cases of coronavirus in Greater Lincolnshire so far in September.

Nationally, cases increased by 6,634 to 416,363, while deaths increased by 40 to 41,902.
