CORONAVIRUS: RAF confirms outbreak at its Coningsby base

The RAF has confirmed that there has been an outbreak of coronavirus at its RAF Coningsby base.

It says there has been a small number of cases at the base and it is working closely with public health authorities.

An RAF spokesman said: “There has been a small number of Covid cases at RAF Coningsby which account for a small percentage of the increase in cases in the region.

“RAF Coningsby continues to work closely with Public Health authorities and has robust measures in place to protect our people and the wider community while they carry out their essential duties defending the nation.”

The news comes as cases across the county continue to rise and a ‘critical incident’ has been declared by health chiefs at Boston Pilgrim and Lincoln County hospitals.
