CORONAVIRUS: Council scraps summer events due to virus

Boston Borough Council with its partners has taken the decision to scrap many of its summer events due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The council has issued a statement saying that events including the Party in the Park, the Teenage Market, Boston Show, and other events in June, July and August have been cancelled.

A spokesperson said: "We would like to inform you, that due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, it is with regret that Boston Borough Council, Boston Big Local and Boston Town Area Committee have had to make the difficult decision to cancel the following upcoming events:

• Craft & Gift Markets 28 May, 25 June and 30 July

• Teenage Market 4 July

• Boston Show 4 & 5 July

• Get Cycling Roadshow 24 July

• Party in the Park 25 July (A 2021 date will be worked up with our partners - tickets can be transferred to this new date, we will be in touch very soon)

• Active Boston 7 August

• Focused beach sessions for July & August – Fun in the Sun/Back in Time and Golden Time

• Boston Beach days – 13 & 14 August

• Boston beach will not on site for July and August as has been in previous years.

"We have taken this decision in the light of the current situation; we will be contacting and working with our contractors, sponsors and event support staff to deliver a reduced events programme depending on circumstances later.
