* In another restriction because of the virus Sainsbury’s Sleaford store is among major supermarkets imposing restrictions on key popular goods per shopper to help maintain supplies in the face of scenes of panic buyers stripping shelves of dry and tinned goods, wipes, toilet rolls and sanitiser.

Starting from tomorrow (Thursday) Sainsbury's in Sleaford will limit opening between 8am and 9am to only admitting customers who are elderly or vulnerable to help them with their isolation.

It states: "They will have exclusive use of the store during this one hour period. Sainsbury’s hot food and deli counter will be closed until further notice from this evening."

* Sleaford Gymnastics Club is to close for the first time in its 23 year existence due to government advice on mass gatherings due to coronavirus.

Head Coach Sammi Harris said: "It is the volume of children in a enclosed space which exceeds the government guidelines. on unnecessary activities.

"I think all gyms and sports clubs should be closed to reduce the risk. I have my girls in national and regional events in April and the governing body has cancelled competitions until June. It is really sad but, at the end of the day it is a hobby, not a necessity. It is good to keep fit but their health and wellbeing has to come first."

She said a number of children were not attending already due to family being in vulnerable groups.

The gym will close until march 31 but that date will be kept under review as guidance is updated.

Sammi said: "I am self employed and it will have a massive impact on me but you cannot put a price on safety. I could not live with myself if I could have prevented something happening. The girls are gutted but I am doing a home programme for them to continue with the work they can do at home."
