CORONAVIRUS: Police say they will act on reports of pubs in Lincolnshire staying open

All pubs and restaurants were told to shut their doors to customers on March 20 as part of the Government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Lincolnshire Police say officers will be investigating any calls it receives, but says it hasn’t found any as yet breaching the rules.

It says people should contact them by calling 101 if they want to report people disobeying the lockdown laws.

In a statement issued on Twitter, the force said: “We have had a few calls suggesting some pubs are breaking Government rules and guidance.

“We haven’t found any yet, but will enforce where non-compliance is discovered. Please ring 101 if you have any concerns.”

Assistant Chief Constable Kerrin Wilson, who is in charge of the force’s coronavirus response, said: “We act on every report of things like this, and some have been selling alcohol and food as takeaways.

“We will continue to visit if we get reports so you have confidence we’ll deal appropriately.”
