Coronavirus (Wednesday): Five more patients die in Lincolnshire hospitals - bringing total to 33

The total number of patients to have died with coronavirus in Lincolnshire’s hospitals now stands at 33, health chiefs have confirmed today (Wednesday).

Figures released this afternoon show that five more people have died in United Lincolnshire Health Trust (ULHT) hospitals.

A spokesperson for ULHT said: “Today’s NHS statement announcing the death of patients who had tested positive for COVID-19 includes five deaths of patients in ULHT hospitals. These deaths cover a 14-day period.

“They have all been reported today due to confirmation of figures taking several days.

“The patients were three men aged between 59 and 68, and two women aged 78 and 92. All had underlying health conditions.

“Their families have been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time.”

Meanwhile, the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust - which has hospitals in Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Goole - has seen 12 deaths.
