The rollout of coronavirus vaccination sites across our district has received praise from Victoria Atkins MP, particularly following the introduction of coastal sites over the last week.

Ms Atkins said: I would like to thank all our NHS professionals, volunteers and members of the armed forces for their ongoing efforts in our vaccination programme at Louth Hospital, Franklin Hall in Spilsby, and in care homes across the constituency.

“Thanks to their vital work, many of our residents in key priority groups have been receiving the vaccine, helping to protect them against the virus and keeping them safe.

“I am also pleased that an additional centre opened at Mablethorpe Marisco Medical Practice last week.

“I am grateful for all the hard work in setting this vaccination site up for our coastal towns.

“Further sites have been established across Lincolnshire, with the next steps for the county’s NHS including a further rollout of the programme through the mass vaccination site in Boston.”

Advanced nurse practitioner Jane Spence, from Orby, came out of retirement to help the vaccine rollout, and administered the first jab at Mablethorpe last week.

“I feel proud to be part of this,” she said. “I retired in October and all of my plans and my social life have collapsed.

“This (the vaccine) means we are one step nearer to getting our lives back.”
