Local gym keeps Skegness moving - and you can join in

A Skegness gym is keeping people moving by inviting everyone to take part in its online fitness classes.

Since Phoenix Fitness launched Phoenix Go Live on Facebook nearly 500 people have joined the group to take part in daily fitness classes.

Jack Johnson, who runs the gym in Victoria Rd, launched the classes at the start of lockdown.

"We are providing members with a timetable live classes every week, where customers can interact with each other and with the instructor.

"This is something we are going to carry on with when we reopen for all members, especially for those with social anxiety and those who are unable to attend the gym due to other commitments, taking out a barrier to fitness."

Current members are kindly supporting the gym, to enable us to get through this difficult period, by keeping their memberships active.

"To thank them for this, we are doing everything we can to keep them training at home.

"All of our equipment has now been dropped off at members' homes to help them continue.

"We are also providing a wide variety of online classes for the whole family, as well as daily raffles for free months of sunbed sessions, gym, classes, vouchers, protein powders, etc.

"All recordings are titled and can be watched anytime.

"We have had fantastic response and have had people join us from all around the country!

"We are offering free trials for people wanting to join in to try this service, which is adaptable to all ages and abilities.

"One of our ladies is 63 and we also have children joining in.

"It is fun fitness for all the family, keeping everyone at home fit and healthy."

The gym is also continuing its charity work by supporting the food bank at the Storehouse. Members in Skegness are leaving surplus food outside their homes for collection.
