“Thank you to all the thousands of young people and their families who are abiding by the rules in challenging times.”

Earlier today (Monday), Deputy Chief Constable of Lincolnshire Police Jason Harwin said the force had handed out more than 65 fines in total to those who have breached the coronavirus lockdown.

However, he said the majority of people were abiding by the rules and staying home unless travel was essential.

Fines this weekend have mainly been given to larger gatherings, including a group of joy riding bikers in Twyford Woods, near Grantham.
