A new bench has been installed in Ruskington to commemorate the efforts of key workers during the Covid-19 outbreak.

The tribute, which is located on the corner of Manor Street and Lincoln Road, was the idea of resident Paula Coggan.

Paula launched a crowdfunding appeal on Facebook in the hope of raising some of the money needed for the bench. However, she was left stunned when the whole cost – £1,250 – was pledged within a week.

The bench was constructed by Lincolnshire firm Roll and Scroll and installed by staff from Ruskington Parish Council.

“I must thank everyone in Ruskington and the local community who have contributed to this cause,” Paula said. “I never thought that we would raise the money so quickly.”
