According to Sleaford Medical Group, some of its staff are having to isolate due to household contacts.

Anyone whose appointment is affected by the reduced capacity will be contacted to rearrange or cancel.

In a post on their Facebook page, the practice said: “We understand that this is frustrating, please bear with us during these difficult times.”

the town’s other GP practice, Millview Medical Centre, also had to reduce and defer its appointments after 70 per cent (four staff) of its nursing team had to self isolate.

The practice should be back up to capacity after two weeks on October 28, but is currently still open.

As well as limited appointment slots, its two surgeries at Sleaford and Heckington have reduced capacity to do blood tests due to a national shortage of reagents for blood test analysis.

The parctice is still honouring: Zoladex, Prostap, cervical smear, immunisations, urgent chemotherapy bloods and dressings. They also still aim to complete the first phase of the Influenza Immunisation programme by the end of October, despite a national delay in supply.

One Doctor and one Nurse Practitioner are continuing to shield with no imminent resolution .
