Three Sleaford Town FC players now confirmed as having Covid-19 as more fixtures postponed

Two more Sleaford Town FC players have tested positive for Coronavirus following on from Tuesday’s announcement that a player had caught the virus meaning their match against Pinchbeck United on Wednesday had been postponed.

Now the club’s next two away matchs at Peterborough Northern Star on September 12 and G.N.G Oadby on Sept 15 have also had to be sidelined.

In an announcement on its website and social media, the club’s boss Jamie Shaw stated: “The club is in regular contact with Public Health England and the United Counties League and are following all of their instructions.

“This only affects the First Team as the players had not been at Eslaforde Park in the recent time frame and all players and staff that had been in contact with the players with positive tests have been informed and are self isolating for 14 days, as per the guidance received from Public Health England.”

He added: “Our next available fixture is on Saturday September 19 away at Boston Town FC.”
