County NHS Trust for mental health services seeks new chairman

After nearly six successful years in office Paul Devlin, chairman of Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, will reach his maximum term of office in April 2021 and the Trust is seeking a “high calibre” replacement.

The position is described as a real opportunity to make a difference to people in Lincolnshire, particularly in local mental health and learning disability services, which the Trust is in charge of delivering.

The Trust is looking for someone with substantial senior or board level experience, in a complex organisation, who has a passion for providing outstanding care for the Trust’s service users and carers.

The chairman provides leadership to both the Board of Directors and the Council of Governors and ensures high standards of governance across all Trust activities. They also work with local community and stakeholders.

Trust Lead Governor, Pauline Mountain, said: “Paul is a well-respected and valued member of our Board of Directors and has led the Trust on its continuous quality improvement journey over the last few years, enabling the Trust to be rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission and Outstanding for well-led. He will be sorely missed, but we wish him all the best for the future and in his role as chairman of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

To be eligible for the role, candidates must qualify to be a member of the Trust and applications are open until November 29, 2020. The Trust plans to make an appointment early in the new year with the new chairman taking up the role from May 1, 2021.
