The sum was awarded to the body by East Lindsey district councillor Jim Swanson through the councillors’ community grants scheme run by the district council.

Chairman of the parish council, Brian Nowicki, said quotes are currently being obtained for the installation of the defibrillator, but the plan is to have it sited at the centrally-located Red Lion pub, where the landlord has also agreed to help by providing the electricity needed for the lit-up cabinet.

The aim is to have it installed ahead of the summer holidays and the influx of seasonal visitors.

The parish council also plans to ask villagers if they would be interested in training sessions run by the emergency medial charity LIVES.

Coun Nowicki said: “This is a very exciting project and we are delighted to be moving it forward.”
