Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service (LCVS) is to run nine Keep Healthy, Keep Active courses in South Kesteven and South Holland this year where people living with dementia can meet and enjoy activities such as quizzes, cooking, gardening, creative sessions, and seated exercise.

Each course will run for five weeks and people will be welcome to attend more than one course.

Of the courses confirmed so far, one is at Carlton Scroop and Normanton Village Hall, in Newark Road, Carlton Scroop. This will be held on Mondays, from 1-3pm, beginning Monday, May 23.

The courses have been funded by Lincolnshire’s Dementia Support Fund and are being run in tandem with a string of free 11-week art and craft courses for dementia sufferers and their carers.

One such course has just begun in Sleaford. It takes place at Riverside Church rear room, in Southgate, from 1-3pm, on Wednesdays. Another Sleaford course is planned for September.
