Millview Medical Practice, which has surgeries in the town and in Heckington has set up the Millview Community Fund to raise £1,000 to be split evenly between the two causes which are coping with massively increased demand due to the impact of Covid-19 restrictions

With the Heckington Community Larder only just setting up Dr Ray Shrouder from the practice said they would like to give it and its Sleaford counterpart a boost.

He said: “Millview has 875 Facebook followers and if everyone donated just £1 each we would get to £1,000 as the practice has set the ball rolling with £150.

“We would like to start by aiming to raise £500 for the new Heckington Larder and £500 for Sleaford Foodbank.

“Extra funds will be put to live votes for your favourite local charity.”

He said: “In these difficult times, there are people around us who are genuinely finding it difficult to make ends meet.

“To help motivate everyone, myself, Dr Prabhakaran Kasinathan, Nurse Practitioner Steve Field, Practice Manager Marcus Griffen and Joolz Hudson along with some brave Millview husbands are going to have a garden head shave on June 1 if we can get to our target. Social distancing conditions will be strictly met.”

You can donate via PayPal at [email protected] to avoid handling any cash, or it can be paid direct into the specially dedicated bank account.

Practice manager Marcus Griffen said it was only launched a couple of days ago and said: “Donations have been coming in all day. Dr Shrouder is very keen being his idea and I am more than happy as his sidekick.

“It has raised approximately £600 already.”
