Bosses at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust are creating 15 new speciality administration teams.

These staff will act as a single point of contact for patients, to hopefully improve the appointments process from the initial referral through to the patient attending an appointment.

Kate Conway, improvement manager, said: “We know that outpatients is a key area where we need to make improvements. This new way of working will give patients a single point of contact for all their appointment enquiries and vastly improve their experience.”

Other steps the Trust has taken are the introduction of a text message reminder service, and a cancellation portal on the website. If you have recently been an outpatient you can do the survey online at http://www.nlg.nhs.uk/patients/feedback/
