Louth and Skegness swimming pools to reopen this month- but Horncastle’s pool will stay closed for the time being

The Magna Vitae Trust has revealed plans for the reopening of swimming pools at their leisure centres in Louth, Skegness and Horncastle.

A Magna Vitae spokesman said: “At last, we are now looking forward to welcoming our custom back in a phased and controlled manner.

“We cannot wait to see you all again but, our re-opening plans remain focused on the safety of our staff and our customers.

“Our small team of dedicated staff have worked incredibly hard in the last few weeks to ensure that our facilities have been thoroughly cleaned, disinfected, sanitised and now COVID secure; hopefully providing you with the confidence to return as soon as possible.

“In the last few weeks our staff team has worked tirelessly to attempt to open our swimming pools sooner than we had originally anticipated.”

Below, you can find the details for the gradual reopening of the swimming pools across the district...

Meridian Leisure Centre, Louth

• The main swimming pool will open for Louth Swimming Club to use from Monday July 27.

• A number of one hour casual swimming sessions for ‘members only’ will be offered on Tuesday July 28 and Thursday July 30. Online booking will be required for these sessions, and the booking login details will be forwarded to members later this week.

• A casual swim and summer pool programme is being further developed and more detail will be released shortly. Updates and details will be published on the Magna Vitae website and social media channels.

• Changing rooms, showers and lockers will not initially be available, but toilets will be available.

• A one-way system will be in operation at this venue.

• The Leisure pool and giant waterslide are now likely to remain closed until the beginning of September 2020.

• Swimming lessons are being planned to resume in early September 2020.

• Swimming lesson direct debits will continue to remain frozen until the ‘WaterWise’ tuition programme resumes.

Skegness Pool & Fitness Suite

• The outdoor swimming pool will open for Skegness Swimming Club use from Monday 20th July 2020;

• A number of one-hour casual swimming sessions for ‘members only’ will be offered on Wednesday July 22 and Friday July 24. Online booking will be required.

• Changing rooms, showers and lockers will not initially be available, but temporary toilets will be available on the poolside.

• A one-way system will be in operation at this venue;

• A casual swim and summer holiday pool programme is being further developed and more details will be released very soon.

• The indoor swimming pool and flume are likely to remain closed until 1st September 2020.

Horncastle Pool & Fitness Suite

• The swimming pool will unfortunately remain closed for the time being. Visit the website and social media channels for updates.

• Magna Vitae are currently talking to the Horncastle Otters Swimming Club about their return to swimming at this site.

• Current Horncastle members wishing to swim can use Meridian Leisure Centre or Skegness Pool & Fitness Suites outdoor pool, for no additional charge until September 2020. Online booking will be required for these sessions, and the booking login details will be forwarded to members later this week.

• Swimming lessons are being planned to resume in early September 2020.

• Swimming lesson direct debits will continue to remain frozen until the ‘WaterWise’ tuition programme resumes.
