NHS England and NHS Improvement is working alongside Indeed to promote the range of NHS healthcare support worker roles that are available to potential applicants during the pandemic, as well as encouraging them to apply for a role in an area of the NHS that best suits them. Indeed has over 250 million unique visitors every month.

To complement the job adverts, a series of online recruitment events are being hosted by Indeed and local NHS organisations across the Midlands.

The partnership is also making it easier for NHS-ready recruits to reach the frontline sooner by fast-tracking the strongest applicants through traditional NHS recruitment processes.

The collaboration with Indeed will see aspiring healthcare workers complete a one-click application for advertised NHS roles on the site, with each applicant’s skills, experience and preferences being paired with a suitable recruiting NHS organisation in their area.

The strongest candidates will then be fast-tracked to an interview panel where, if they are successful, they could receive a conditional offer of employment.

Siobhan Heafield, the Regional Chief Nurse for NHS England and NHS Improvement in the Midlands, said: “NHS workers have played a leading role in the fight against coronavirus, so it’s vital that we do everything we can to make it as easy as possible for more people to join the NHS and this new partnership with Indeed makes the application process much quicker.

“We are appealing especially to those people from the retail, hospitality and travel sectors who have sadly been made redundant or lost their jobs as a result of the pandemic and could be a great asset to the NHS.

“The vacancies we’re advertising right now are for healthcare support worker roles, which are a fantastic starting point for anyone looking to begin a career in the NHS. It enables recruits to work in their choice of mental health, hospital, midwifery and other settings.”

As part of the partnership, Indeed will be hosting a series of online recruitment events where prospective applicants can find out more about the role and hear what vacancies are available right now across the Midlands.

United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust is among the first trusts in the region to pilot the new fast-tracked recruitment process, with the first new recruits expected to be welcomed into the NHS there by the end of February.
