The showcase will take place at the National Centre for Craft and Design (NCCD) from Monday to next Friday.

The event has been organised by the Alzheimer’s Society in support of Dementia Awareness Week and will feature forgot-me-not flowers made by schoolchildren and members of youth groups.

Louise Roberts, information worker for the society, said: “The NCCD has kindly offered the venue free of charge, a local company has offered some resources for the display.

“I have received a large number of very creative and artistic flowers from schools, scouts, cubs and youth groups across the county, so I’m sure the display will be stunning.”

More flowers will be made at workshops being held by the Alzheimer’s Society at schools on Monday, which, in addition to Dementia Awareness Week, tie in with the charity’s Intergenerational Schools Project – a drive to raise dementia awareness among young people.
