Rainbow Stars adopted the Sleaford station garden area on platform one so that the people they support could have an outdoor space to grow things to promote better mental health.

Jane Peck from the project said: “We take users down when we can to grow and weed.

“For Christmas, Valentine’s, Easter, Remembrance Sunday we do a lovely display."

Currently it is for Valentine’s day, with lots of hearts adorning the raised beds. For the Coronation of King Charles they will be adding red, white and blue decorations.

Another activity for youngsters, Funtopia, a touring festival of outdoor fun for under 10s is coming to Sleaford’s Boston Road Recreation Ground on April 10. The experience will be filled with inflatables, role play areas, entertaining shows, character meet and greets, giant games, water fights and food outlets.

For the first hour there will be an exclusive session from 10.30am for children with autism and/or SEND issues and their siblings, featuring reduced numbers, no music, sensory activities and special breakfast offers, all for £5 (adults free). From 11.30am to 5.30pm entry to the event will be £10 per child, £2.50 per adult (children under 90cm free).
