The sum – £93,900 in all – has been allocated to the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, in East Kirkby, through the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund.

Andrew Panton, from the centre, said: “We are very pleased and relieved to receive a grant from the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund.

“It is the first grant we have received during the Covid period other than the ELDC (East Lindsey District Council) local restrictions grants.

“The grant is designed to help with basic running costs from April to June and is provided to cover costs such as electric, rent, water, wages.

“To receive this help from the Government relieves a lot of concern and pressure over the next couple of months as we transit through this very worrying time until we can re-open and become viable and sustainable again.”

The centre recently confirmed it is looking to start welcoming visitors back from Monday, May 17, initially only on certain days a week.
