Recently the Sleaford Standard described how the team at Mrs Smith’s Cottage in Navenby launched a digital tour of its kitchen area for history enthusiasts, with a series of photos of objects coupled with information and stories via the History Pin site.

Now this Sunday, Sleaford’s Cogglesford Mill volunteers plan to hold a virtual milling day

They explained yesterday on their social media feeds: “This Sunday should have been our #millingday .

“We can’t be on site milling as usual, so we’ll be hosting a Virtual Milling Day instead! Follow us on Sunday and learn some interesting facts and see some photos of our remarkable building!”

They have been posted a number of photos of curious objects and features of the mill such as the hoist mechanism on its own Twitter feed too.

Mrs Smith’s Cottage has also launched a series of craft tutorials via Youtube.

In the first craft tutorial Nicki Jarvis is guiding you through the process of making a weekly diary, like the one kept by Mrs Smith, the former resident of the cottage, throughout her long life.

○ Cranwell Aviation Heritage Centre, another of North Kesteven’s museum attractions, is to launch a virtual version of its new exhibition, Boom, on Monday, April 13.

The exhibition celebrates the centenary of the opening of RAF College Cranwell and will run until March 31 next year.
