It has been more than a month since pubs across the UK were ordered to close as part of the Government’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

It makes the gallery of pub signs on this page nostalgic in two ways, not just because they date from 1970, but also because it reminds us of a way of life which is currently on hold. Some pubs are still here, others closed many years ago ...
