New starts at schools and in sport
Here we have three more photographs from in and around the Sleaford area from 10 years ago.
Pictured above are new starters in the foundation stage at William Alvey School, Sleaford, having their first-day nerves swept away by a teddy bears’ picnic.
Joining them for the photo are their Year 5 ‘buddies’ who would be supporting them through their first year at the school.
Pictured above right, is another new starter – Laura Suffield, the then new headteacher of Chestnut Street Primary School, in Ruskington.
Pictured right are members of the newly formed Sleaford Barge Netball Club.
The club was an amalgamation of Sleaford’s two netball teams.
To celebrate the union, members took part in a countywide tournament featuring 30 teams in all.
